As we continue to navigate the COVID-19 pandemic, the Greater Fall River Symphony Society is excited to announce that we are hosting the 96th season of the Fall River Symphony on YouTube!
Our season will consist of 5 virtual events: 4 master class style presentations and a holiday special.
This announcement is likely to pose many questions, so let's address a few of those.
All presentations will be on YouTube, presented live on the aforementioned dates and times. A link to each specific event will be e-mailed out and posted on our Facebook page that will bring you to the event with a single click. If you can't tune in while the presentation is occurring, we will be posting links after the live portion has finished so you can view it at any time!
Our YouTube channel is located here. As of right now, there will be nothing there to view, but feel free to subscribe to the channel.
Our Facebook page is located here. Updates are posted there as well as e-mailed out to our subscribers.
We will be e-mailing out a reminder at 1pm on the day of each live event with a direct link to view the event.
We are not gathering the symphony in its entirety. Ray has selected a few of our musicians for each presentation. All musicians will be socially distanced in accordance with MA state law.
We are partnering with the Narrows Center in Fall River who has extended their space to us. We will be filming the majority of our presentations in their performance space.
If you've never checked out the Narrows Center, take a peek at their website, their Facebook page, and their YouTube page.
We've been busy putting this season together and are putting our first presentation together without sponsors, but we will be sending out information on sponsorships for the remaining 4 presentations within the next few weeks.
The short answer is that each presentation is free! However - as you know, we are a non-profit organization that is funded by ticket sales, donations from our patrons, grants, advertising income, and corporate sponsors. At the beginning of each presentation and throughout the show, there will be donation options present. Suggested donations are $25 per household.
We know and understand that the pandemic has impacted many of our patrons. Bringing music to the community has always been our mission, and by charging a ticket fee, we feel that we would not be bringing music to the community at this time. If you feel obligated to do something for us, but cannot monetarily contribute - share us with your friends and family!
We hope that you will join us on this journey as we begin to explore the wonders of today's technological age! if you should have any further questions, please respond to this e-mail and we will address each question we receive.
Don't forget to check your e-mail for our first virtual presentation link this Sunday, November 29th at 3pm!
Thank you all for your continued patronage!
